The 2nd China International Consumer Products Expo to be held in Haikou, Hainan

The 2nd China International Consumer Products Expo is slated to be held in Haikou, the capital city of Hainan Province, from July 26 to 30, 2022. Brands from 58 countries and regions have confirmed their participation in the Expo.

China International Consumer Products Expo (hereinafter Hainan Expo) is one of the four major national-level exhibitions that is co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Hainan Province, and that is written into the Overall Plan for the Construction of Hainan Free Trade Port and the Report on the Work of the Government of the State Council. It is also the first national exhibition with the theme of consumer products and the largest consumer product exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region.

General Secretary Xi Jinping said that holding the Hainan Expo to provide a display and trading platform for high-quality consumer products from all over the world will help all countries in the world to share the opportunities in the Chinese market, promote the recovery and growth of the world economy, and help China provide more high-quality consumer products for the world.

In the face of the double challenges from the changes and a pandemic both unseen in a century, the Hainan Expo will provide a good opportunity to stimulate consumption and boost confidence in economic development.

This Hainan Expo, with the theme of “Share open opportunities to create a better life”, will give greater prominence to “high-quality” and “new” consumer products. The total exhibition area will increase from 80,000 square meters in the first session to 100,000 square meters, and all special booths will be built in an environmentally friendly manner. France will serve as the guest of honor of this expo.

The international exhibition area will feature 740 exhibitors with 1,322 participating brands from 58 countries and regions. Many leading brands that participated in the first session, such as L’Oréal, Richemont Group, and Swatch Group, expanded the scale of participation. In addition to the leading brands, the world-leading brands in some sub-sectors also participate in this expo, including American Estée Lauder and Japanese kose in the fragrance industry, American Tumi in the luggage industry, Japanese Otsuka and Australian NutritionCare in the healthcare product industry, Japanese DAIWA in the sea fishing industry, Hong Kong TSL in the jewelry industry, Swedish Hästens in the mattress industry, and Hello Kitty in the theme park industry.

The domestic exhibition area features the participation of 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, with a focus on high-quality consumer products and time-honored brands. This year’s Hainan Expo also set up a new exhibition area for domestic premium products. Wuliangye, PIEN TZE HUANG, iFLYTEK, Bloomage, auratic and other well-known Chinese brands will participate in the expo.

In terms of buyer invitation and organization, the 2022 Hainan Expo will focus on professional buyers by inviting tax-free business enterprises, cross-border e-commerce enterprises, high-end commercial retail giants, high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), etc. to the expo for procurement and transactions.

This year’s Hainan Expo will create the Global Consumption Forum, a high-end exchange platform with a focus on consumer products. It will hold rich supporting activities in diverse forms, including large-scale forums such as Global Consumption Innovation and Duty Free and Travel Retail Conference, and Sustainable Consumption Summit Forum. It will also organize a series of events such as a dedicated zone for livestreaming of new product release, fashion week, and promotion of high-quality products by various provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities.
