For the 139^th Canton Fair, Chinese assistants or interpreters (holders of a People's Republic of China resident identity card) of overseas buyers (hereinafter referred to as buyers) are required to apply for the “Badge of Accompanying Personnel for Overseas Buyers.” The badge application is scheduled to officially open on April 3. The relevant procedures for badge application are as follows. Buyers in need are advised to make preparations in advance.

I. Eligible Applicant

Only buyers can initiate applications for accompanying personnel via the official Canton Fair website, and the application is subject to review by the organizer. Accompanying personnel cannot initiate the application on their own. 

II. Application Deadline

Applications should be submitted at least 2 days in advance. For example, if attendance is planned for April 15, the application must be submitted no later than April 13. Please plan the application timeline based on your attendance schedule.

III. Types of Accompanying Personnel

Accompanying personnel are divided into“assistants”and“interpreters.”Interpreters are additionally required to submit proof of translation qualifications (China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters (CATTI), National Accreditation Examinations for Translators and Interpreters (NAETI), or a graduation certificate in a foreign language major from a higher education institution in the Chinese mainland).

IV. Quota

Each buyer may apply for up to 2 accompanying personnel per phase, with a maximum of one interpreter and one assistant each.Buyers from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan as well as those holding a Chinese passport are not eligible to apply for an interpreter badge and can only apply for an assistant badge.

V. Fee Standard

A fee of RMB 300 per day plus a RMB 50 administrative fee will be charged. Used badges are non-refundable (a badge is considered used once it has been scanned by entry gates).

VI. Badge Application Alert

If the badge application record of an accompanying personnel from previous sessions shows irregularities, an alert will be triggered. Those who trigger the alert must submit additional supporting documents for review. Please pay attention to the system prompts when uploading materials.

VII. Restrictions on Badge Application

i. For the same phase of the current session, individuals who have successfully obtained an exhibitor badge or exhibitor representative badge are not eligible to apply for an accompanying personnel badge for that phase.

ii. Individuals who have successfully obtained a move-in/move-out badge for the current session, or whose exhibitor/exhibitor representative badge application was rejected, are not eligible to apply for an accompanying personnel badge for the current session.

VIII. Reminder on Responsibility for Attendance

Buyers and their accompanying personnel must ensure a genuine accompanying relationship. Failure to do so may result in the organizer confiscating the Canton Fair badges of both the buyer and the accompanying personnel and requiring them to leave the venue. In addition, the individuals involved may be placed on the Canton Fair badge blacklist in accordance with the Measures for Handling Violations by Personnel and Vehicles at the China Import and Export Fair (Trial), and no refund will be given for the confiscated badges.To improve badge application efficiency, buyers are encouraged to complete their pre-registration in advance, contact their accompanying personnel, and have ready the required basic information, including the accompanying personnel’s mobile phone number and resident identity card number.
